Let the Sunshine In!

Penny and Lyndi love this room too!

This room was built as a formal dining room, but I turned it into a sunroom. It faces the backyard and has a sliding glass door and a vaulted ceiling. The wall color is a pretty green color. The red slipcover on the chair was a find at my friend Haley's booth at the flea market. We moved the chandelier into the eat in kitchen area and hung a fan in the sunroom. The large hutch/cabinet is one piece built by my husbands grandfather. It is solid wood and weighs a ton. We have moved it to many houses and it remains very sturdy. I wanted to paint it but the loml said no. I am thinking of a compromise and suggesting to just paint the inside. We will see....

White soup tureen collection, ceramic dogs and transferware with a touch of lace fills the cabinet.

These chairs were in the family room at my old house. I had slipcovers made to lighten them up. The picture above the chairs is of a conservatory. A great garage sale find for $5.00.
The quilt is a Ennis family heirloom too. I keep my antique binoculars close by for bird and horse watching.

This view is from the kitchen area looking into family room. I also wanted to bring in some of the coastal themed decor that I have collected, beach prints, bird cages and of course my prized ceramic Japanese dog collection. Many collections gather here but I think it all blends together and it is my favorite room in the house. I don't think the judges of Design Star would agree, but I believe we should surround ourselves with our loved ones and with the things we love!
